♔ ABILITIES: Alistair primarily wields a sword and shield however he has also trained to a lesser extent in the use of two-handed weapons e.g. greatsword or battleaxe and polearms. He usually wears heavy plate armour bearing the griffon of the Grey Wardens. He was trained as a templar, an order of warriors dedicated to fighting and suppressing magic. As a result he's able to resist magic to some degree and potentially can utilise a number of abilities designed to control magic. These abilities can dispel magic in an area; drain a magic users mana and prevent them casting spells and stun or even injure enemies.

Spell Purge: The templar purges the area of hostile magic. This may block enemies from using magic for a short time.
Wrath of Heaven/Holy Smite: The templar strikes out with righteous fire, stunning or knocking back the target and other nearby enemies. If the target is a spellcaster they may lose mana and take additional damage.
Righteous Strike: Each of the templar's melee hits against an enemy spellcaster drains its mana and may prevent them from using their abilities for a short time.
Silence: The templar surrounds a foe in negative energy, preventing the enemy from activating abilities for a short time.

Oh, and his blood is magic because one of his ancestors drank dragon's blood. No, that doesn't make any sense but there you have it. In essence all this means is any magic performed using his blood will be more powerful than expected.
